INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY 2017

On March 8th, 2017 we gathered on the Village Green in Eastsound, WA to celebrate International Women's Day. The day was chilly with a slight drizzle, but our joyful companionship warmed us all. Shirley Williams, from the Lummi Tribe, spoke with us on the importance of unity, respect for the Earth, and the coming together for the greater good. Women of OWC created awesome posters depicting women of historical significance. The all-female open-mic was enjoyed by all. 

On March 8th, 2017 we gathered from 3-5pm on the Village Green in Eastsound, WA to celebrate International Women's Day. The weather was cold, gray, and rainy, but our spirits were bright. Shirley Williams traveled from the Lummi Nation to speak with us on the importance of protecting the environment, honoring treaties, supporting youth, and fostering community.
