WHAT IS THE FUTURE OF HEALTH CARE IN THE SAN JUAN ISLANDS?
Director of San Juan County Health and Community Services, Mark Tompkins, and Ellen Wilcox, Community Health Services Manager, will be detailing the mission, responsibilities, programs and efforts of San Juan County, particularly family and community health services at a community meetingThursday, June 29 at 6:00pm at the Orcas Senior Center, 69 Henry Road, Eastsound.
The two hour community discussion will include a PowerPoint presentation, prepared comments and a time for questions and answers.
Some of the topics covered will include:
What is the role and scope of San Juan County Health & Community Services?
Basic department facts: when created, budget, personnel, etc?
Who are the personnel working for the department in the field?
What are some past achievements and future goals?
What are some challenges in delivery of the department's services?
What services seem to be the most unused by the public, though available?
What are ways public can help the department reach its goals?
What are the fiscal constraints or worries for the department?
What can be done for rural health that will work for the islands?
Everyone is invited. There is no fee. Parking is available.
